Bad- Just minor picky things
just a minor problem like breaking axles...........constantly...........ifyou are a demanding rider...........go ahead and invest 1200 bux in some gorilla axles..........u will need them for a grizzly...........my advice is to wait until the 06 grizzly comes out.........

I have no regrets going from my Raptor to the Grizzly. This machine is just down right awesome. The axles where beefed up in the later 04 models because of the snapping when people where putting bigger tires on them. As of the 05 models they are better then ever. The power is always there to climb hills and to go through mud.

I have the Grizzly and love it. Ride and suspension is great. Excellent power. Not too much of a gas pig. Yamaha has perfected this machine.

This is an old thread!!
I got rid of my Grizzly way back,,,,we rolled it 3 times,,,way too tippy,,,squirrly handling in sand washes.
Great power, but the chassis and handling didn't match. I have been on a DS ever since.
I have ridden both the new Polaris Sportsman and the new King Quad. Both are very impressive, and I would take either over a Grizzly, that is if I wanted a utility. The '05 Polaris are very stabile, great handling, and I don't think they have had any AWD problems since they got rid of the electric hubs in '04&1/2. I like the smaller size and lighter weight of the King Quad, but it doesn't handle as well as the new Sportsman. Main thing is the front end dips in hard turns, even with the front spring preload cranked all the way up. But that is my only complaint, otherwise it is an awesome machine. But the new front end, wider, with more shock travel on the Polaris is really something you have to experience.

I have a 2003 Grizz and the only problem I have had was that tree that jumped out in front of me. The front bumper is kinda weak, I am looking to put on beefier one and a full set of bash plates and covers, plus a Ramsey Winch. Never felt tippy to me but I did roll it the 2nd day I owned it while doing donuts in the dirt. Havent broken an axle yet but I didnt buy it to get airborne, just cruise the trails and have a good time. It's Yamaha reliable....

I have ridden the polaris 500 sportsman and I prefer the grizzley, I have the Grizzley and my father has the polaris and everytime he need's it he grabs mine. I also rode the seven hundred sportsman and I thought it had lots of power but the stearing was just not what the grizz is. In fact I think it has to much power you can't take off without spinning the tires. I like to do that but not every time I take off. Good Luck
