My buddy rides a 95 Blaster.. He recently did something with the clutch, not sure what!! But know the thing will NOT stay in gear !! It pops out in almost every gear. He can hold the shifter down and it then stays, but if he doesn't, it pops right out !! know, guessing he assemabled the clutch correctly, what could be making this happen. He is pretty goo dwith the mechanical part of it, but anyone can mess up !! Has this happened to anyone else,, and how did you fix this problem ?? Please give me some help...

While I don't pretend to be an expert on Blasters or on trannys either, it sounds like youR friend has either bent shifting forks or bad pinion gears. Normally if it jumps out of just one or two gears, such as 1st &2nd, 3rd & 4th, etc., it's just one shifter fork, but it sounds like he has a bigger problem. He may want to take the entire shift cam assembly to some one for inspection. First, he may want to check the forks to see if they're installed right side up. I believe the embossed side should be facing up.

I agree. If he only did stuff to the clutch then he shouldn't have had to split the cases, so the forks and shift drum should be installed correctly. It sounds like they are bent, but they wouldn't have been bent playing with the clutch, it would have had the shift problems before messing with the clutch. So, maybe he removed the star from the shift drum or pulled the shifter shaft out. If they were incorrectly reinstalled or one of the springs was left out it would have the symptoms of a bent shift fork. If that is the case, it should be fixed before he does bend a shift fork.
