Zorro...When I was about 12 I dislocated my shoulder jumping into the pool. I was too relaxed and when I dove in and it popped out. It took forever to get "back to normal". The same thing happened with my knee...doing a do-nut on my atc 250r the rear wheel dug in and I put my leg out to stop it from going over. Then my foot dug in and the weight and momentum of me and the trike buckled my knee sideways. The doc said I didn't tear anything {a miracle} but all of the tendons got extremely stretched out. Nearly 15 years later {and several more dislocations} it will still remind me of what I did. I've found that resting it for a few months helped at first but strengthening it is absolutely necessary.
Eventually you will subconsciously think of your shoulder BEFORE you do anything. You will learn what causes it to go out and you'll learn to avoid doing those things.
Just wait til you get older, you'll be thinking about moving to Miami like the rest of us worn out geezers who can't take the cold air on our arthritic joints.
