is the yamaha warrior a good beginner sports machine. i need a quad that i can take on the trails back in the woods.. but also to the dunes. it has to be something easy to ride.... any ideas?

 

I would go with at least a 400EX. They are not the biggest brutes in the world but they can perform. They are fairly easy to ride. They are also great in the dunes. How old are you?

 

I agree with highperformance because if your talking dunes and want to have some fun go with the 400ex. The 400EX's suspension is so much better than the warriors. For a beginner the only downfall I can see would be there is no reverse. I would still purchase 400EX over the warrior though. Chet

 

Yes, the Warrior is a good beginner machine, especially if you're 6' or taller. The reverse comes in really handy in the woods. We run ours in the woods with Maxxis Razr's and at the dunes with Skat-Trak Haulers. They are ultra-dependable and pretty easy to work on with a Clymer manual handy. Plan on getting a rear skid plate for any serious trail action though.

 

if i was a very beginner i don't know if i'd wanna be on a 400EX or not and the warrior is cheaper. i think the warrior is the best choice for you...but hey if you can afford it get the 400 its also a great machine. a 300EX is nice too.

 

Warrior is a great beginner machine. Durable too. Feels like a tank compared to my Raptor. Still have mine and dont plan on parting with it soon. Fun quad even with the faster one available.
