. Take off the Cover on the left side of the motor and just to the right of the petcock there is a white plastic bracket with a bunch of wires.Find the three prong white plug with 3 wires.a white a black and a blue wire with a yellow tracer just unplug and that"s all there is to it. The only drawback is that the speedo doesn't work.I will find a way to put in a toggle switch to just override this so the speedo will work until you need the override.
well at least it is a start but hang on to the handle bars cause when I got up to a good speed it was **** to keep it straight.

was wondering if you know how to overide the speed/rev limiter in reverse
on the new 660 griz.my dealer has no info yet...the amount of thought yamaha put into this feature on a 600lbs+ machine is qustionable.I,ve been seriosly stuck twice and having full power in reverse would have easily gotten me out.

if you want to bypass the reverse limiter on the new grizz.
Look on the side where the gear shift is take off the side cover and you will see just to the right of the petcock a clump of wires in a white bracket with a rubber strap around them, find the green one with a white tracer on it and unplug it.Take the female side and ground it to the frame via a bolt and you will know it is the right wire because when you unplug it with the key switch on the reverse light will stay on wether in reverse or not. When it is grounded the reverse light goes out.
I will be putting a toggle switch on mine so that I will have an override switch on so in case someone jumps on it and nails it in reverse and flips it.It is a handful in reverse with no limiter.
I will try to find the limiter on the Differential lock later on.It"s really easy just like on the kodiak but easier I believe.
I got the Idea from the kodiak post so thanks whoever
I made this post about a month a go so. I hope it helps you.

Well, I just did the reverse limiter fix and it worked just fine. The deal is, when set up this way you lose the reverse indicater light altogeher. I guess a toggle switch would be best so you have the indicater light under normal riding conditions or would that get it back. I'm not sure how to proced...Arlan

I think they should of put an reverse over ride like Polaris.
I love the looks of the Grizz but I will be getting the Raptor!

I agree about having an over ride like on the Polaris. I'm trying to do that now. I am testing to see if just grounding the green wire via a switch with out unhooking it will work. The Raptor is fun and I own one of those also, but if I had to chose between the two the Grizzly would win with out a second thought. If a true sport bike is what your after then the Raptor would be the winner for sure...Arlan

Put a wire where the green wire plugs together then run it to a toggle or push button togggle then to ground and the rev. indicator light will be on unless over ridden.I will try to post the picture of my switch.

Thanks, I already did the test and it works great. I am installing a push button on/off switch right below my horn button. I'm making up a little aluminum box and it mounts just to the right of the starter button area. Thanks for the information. I thought about doing the diff lock limiter also, but don't know that I want to override that. I don't do mud, but it might be good in snow, what do you think...Arlan

I finished making the switch box and it's all mounted. I'm sure glad you figured out how to override the limiter. I wasn't even aware it had a reverse limiter as I haven't been stuck bad enough to notice it. I would have been pi$$ed to find myself unable to back up a steep hill that was about to drop me into a hidden abyss or something. Here is a picture of it. The top button is the override button the bottom is for my air horns. Don't flame me over the horns, you can't see them and they come in real handy, also it's part of the equipment required to be street legal...Arlan

I just went there so any one who checks out this picture please tell me if all my albums are open for viewing. It's something I can't tell being the registered site owner...Thanks

That's a pretty clean set-up Arlan. Where did you get that switch at??
