Sorry Yamaha's

I saw a DS parked next to a 400ex and it made the 400 look like a 90. The ds is huge, I don't think it would fit in my truck.
I got the raptor and I love it.
Do what you feel is right for you. I love quads and I don't think you can go wrong with either, just what fits your needs.

"NEW KING" bla,bla,bla,bla...what a load of BS. Just get whatever trips your trigger, and try not to be like certain other "dung-sniffers" who frequent this forum. It's ALL good as far as I'm concerned. Peace.

Size does matter. If you are over 6 feet tall you might like the DS better. The new Baja has a lot of details that refine and fix what we've known were weak points on the DS. The A-arms, the front mounted fan are improvements I bet we'll see on the regular 2002 DS.
If you are racing MX you might want to stick with a 2002 Raptor, because Weight does matter, too, and that is the one remaining weak point of the DS. It is heavy and does not fly like a Raptor. It lands fine, but control in the air is not as good as the lighter Raptor. They are both great quads, and for 2002 both are improved.
They still will need a little massaging to get them just right. A wider rear axle for the Raptor, better front shocks for the DS.

I agree w/fourlix, If you are over 6" you might want to consider the DS 650 over the Raptor as my 6"2 buddy regrets the day he bought a Raptor. Too short, too narrow, Too tall for someone his height. IF you are less than 6", either one will make you happy!
