MUD BOG RESULTS!!
#1
Hello,
On saturday I went to a local bud mog/quad pull with my little bro (who was mad that he couldn't take his 2002 kodiak cause you had to be 16 to ride and he is 13) and my neighbour who has a 2001 Kodiak with a modified exhaust,27 inch mud bugs, snorkeled to compete in the mud bog.
The event was put on by the local polaris dealer and they had two new 700's there and was competeing in all the events.
Quad pull (where they pull a trailer with a weight on the trailer coming forward as the pull progresses)
longest pull-Kawasaki 650 v-twin, this quad was totally stock and if it would have had better tires I'm sure it would have went even farther.
second longest pull- went to the new griz 660 it did good but if it would have had a bigger rider on it and better tires I'm sure it would have close to the v-twin.
Third- went to the new polaris, it seemed to have a good start but towards the end of the pull its belt started to slip because the machine was revving like crazy but the tires weren't spinning.
Mud bog-
under 500cc class (mostly 400cc machines)
in this event there were 2 quads lined up having to cross the mud bog then turn around and come back while trying to set the best time
1st-Polaris scrambler 400 4x4 with large mud machines all the way around probably 27inch tires and a pipe and wiseco high compression piston (there were 2 runs for each rider and this machine broke the second run)
2nd-my neighbours modified kodiak, lost by 2 seconds to the scrambler, but the kodiak got water into the airbox.
3rd-polaris scrambler with bearclaws on it
I had to leave before the over 500cc+ class went.

All I can say is kudos to Kawasaki... Way to come out of no where with a nice quad!
I'm truly impressed with the P-650 so far. I have never rode it but I never seem to hear anything negative about it and it looks like my ideal quad.
I could see myself on that bike next year I think!
