Pro-Tec also has a oil filter cover/cooler. I've seen it on and they look like they will keep things cooler, and strong enough to protect you filter from rocks or other...

I called two local dealers and both said that ABA-5LP27-62-00 is not a good number. I asked them for the Raptor oil filter cover and they acted stupid. Can you give the name of your dealer and I'll call and get it off of him. Hey 95 warrior, could you fax me the sheet of accessories?

the pro-tec one looks good, but for 76 bucks they can keep it.

No offense, but your dealers are either stoned or don't want to sell stuff. I have both my receipt and the flyer Yamaha sent me, and the part number is ABA-5LP27-62-00. The only difference is, the flyer lists it at $23.99, I got charged $29.95. The flyer was printed in 5/01, and I thought it was worth $30, so I paid it. There is no way there will be any damage to the oil filter without completely ripping it off the engine. My dealer is Card Brothers Equipment, 1-800-322-1674, (989)845-7370. So far I've picked up: a "Billet Starter Gear Cover" #ABA-5LP27-47-00, $65.99; a "Rear Brake Guard" #ABA-5LP19-00-00, $49.99 (replaces the cheapie plastic rear master cyl. guard), and the "Billet Oil Filter Cover". That leaves the "Billet Master Cylinder Cover" #ABA-5LP27-31-00, $21.95; and the "Billet Thottle Housing Cover" #ABA-5LP27-33-00, $19.95 which I've tried to order and they (Yamaha) lists it as out of stock. The only other pieces listed on the flyer are "Aluminum Radiator Guard" #ABA-5LP26-40-00, $58.99 (I think it replaces the stock black one); an "Oil/Water Pump Cover" #ABA-5LP26-50-00, $89.99 (I've called Boyensen about making a high flow cover/impeller for the Raptor, like they do for the YZ's); and a "Billet Sproket/Disc Carrier" #ABA-5LP94-20-00, $219.99 All this followed by the disclaimers such as "prices may vary due to supply, freight, etc. ACTUAL PRICES SET BY THE DEALER. Availabily subject to production, stocking, and demand." Hope this helps.

Hi GooJoe,

The name of my dealer is Libby's Yamaha, Honda, Ducati. They are in New Haven, CT. The phone number is (203)772-1112 and ask for Keith Libby. Tell him that you know Pete with the Raptor. He himself did not know that Yamaha made an aftermarket oil filter cover for the Raptor until he called Yamaha himself. Give him and call and tell me how you made out? Those part numbers that the other members mentioned are indeed correct.

the part numbers he listed above are all right. That dealer has his head in the sand.I would be careful using him for anything .He is obivously not in the loop on things. Those part numbers have been out for about 5 months. The 2002 parts catalog should be coming out any day .One new thing it will have are side engine covers in black and carbon.
