All of these posts regarding tires and recommended sizes have caused me more confusion than anything!

Since I plan to replace the stock Dunlop's on my Warrior, would I be better off finding a tire in the same size as the original tires, or something else? FYI, the stock size for the front is 22x7-10, and the rears are 22x10-9. I was going to stick with the same size for the fronts, but go with a 22x11-9 for the rears. Does this sound okay? Also, if I go with something like a 20x10-9 or 20x11-9 for the rears, will I be required to change the front or rear sprockets because of the lower tire height?

If you plan to go riding were there are any rocks our mud the 20" rears may give you too low of ground clearance. My friend has 20" razrs on back and they perform great but he is constantly hitting rocks on his skidplates. Skidplates are a must the stock ones suck so if you dont have them already get them.

2000Warrior350,
I think I may have replied to one of you posts on the Connection. I hope that wasn't the one that got you confused" ") Anyway on my Warrior, I run stock size on the front, but I went to the 20/10/9 BanditXC's on the rear, & am on my 2nd set. I wouldn't use anything else. I did this to get away from the balloon tire effect of the 22" tire, which tends to roll over in hard aggressive riding. An 11' wide tire would have no effect on gear ratio, the tire height being the same as a 10". However if you do decide to go with a 20"tire you'll definitely have a shorter gear ratio, as I did. You can restore this ratio to stock pretty much by running a 14 tooth c/s sprocket. In my case, I was more interested in top end so I use a 15 tooth which gives me more than enough low end for anything except drag racing, which I don't do anyway.
Altho it is true you would lose 1" of ground clearance with a 20" tire(2" =1" either side of the axle), a good swing arm skid would help that a lot together with being more selective choosing a line. Here in Az, I ride mostly on narrow trails 50"wide with major rocks & washouts & I haven't found the 20" tires to be more of a handicap than the big balloons . And the Bandits really look BAAD also" ")
Re skids, I've used AC, DG, & my current one is an OMF, which is the best & strongest by far. It bolts right up to the existing holes, more than I can say about the others.
Did I make the mud thicker? That's the only problem with the forum... you get a lot of replies with no real facts to back them up, If you need more on tires, you can e-mail me, especially on Bandits: I'm a big fan
