Blaster Carb.
#1
I was checing the carb on my blaster the other day because it would not idle and found the problem. The cap on the top of the carb will not tighten down on the base. I don't know if the cap or the carb body or both are stripped. I tried to buy a new cap at the dealer hoping that it may be an easy fix. Guess what, you can't just buy the cap. You have to buy a new carb for $150 bucks... I don't want to run the bike like this because I know that if it is not tightened down, it is surely sucking dirt in there. Has anyone else had the same problem? If so, what did you do? Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks, Mike

that is the TORS cap. if it is striped. you can't do much now but spend $$$money$$$. you can get a new carb. if you do get a new one don't buy a stock one. get an aftermarket one. they a cheaper. you may have to buy a new boot too depending on the size of your new carb. (a bigger carb does not effect performance unless you have motor work done)
another thing i can suggest is making a new cap to go on the carb. if you do that you will loose the TORS system. that way is a lot cheaper too. well that is all i can think of. good luck!

Had the exact same problem. The carb is stripped, not the cap.
I suggest finding a stock used right side Banshee carb. With everybody dropping new larger carbs in there Banshees, you should be able to find one cheap. Just transfer over you jet (pilot, main, needle) from the Blaster to Banshee and make sure you plug the choke hole the Banshee carbs have in them. (it connects the choke system together on both carbs.)

I do check it now and then, but I don't normally post. Just saying "Blaster" can start flame wars in here.
