Trinity Stage IV Head on Banshee?
#1
I have the oppurtunity to get a great deal on a Trinity Stage IV Head for my Banshee and just wanted to know what people that had them thought of them or what others had heard of them. It will be placed on a basically stock bike except for a K&N filter and hopefully around X-Mas some new Toomey's and I just want to know if they really boost power or if they're just a waste of money. Oh yeah, what's a good main jet to start with if you have stock 200 mains and a K&N. Thanks.

When I first got my coolhead, my bike was stock except for a Pro-Flow Filter setup with a foam filter. I installed the cool head with 21cc domes and the proflow at the same time and went from a 200 main to a 260. I also dont run an airbox lid. About the Trinity head, I have heard the older versions leak coolant, but the newer ones are ok. Do they increase power? Depends on what size domes you get. I went from the stock 22cc to a 21cc dome. I noticed a slight increase in power throughout the powerband, especially at the bottom. If you get smaller domes, you will get more of an increase, but any smaller than 21cc and you have to run race gas.

jblough covered it just right, dont expect the world but with smaller domes it does help I have 18cc domes in my cool head, I do run race gas, if you can get it at a good price go for it but to pay alot of money, like a new one, I think the money can be better spent somewhere else like on a set of pipes since you still have stockers

The Trinity head is a great idea, but remember one thing, once you decrease the dome size, you are boosting compression. Make sure you have your crank welded before you spend alot of money on a bottom end rebuild. A spun crank can add up in a big hurry. Most manufacturers dont recommend running less than 21cc domes on a non-welded crank, so i have been told on the ones I have consulted with. The cooler you can keep the machine, the better power you will have.

Thanks for the replies but the guy had the old leaky style without interchangeable domes. Won't work unless I get a big bore kit. I found what I would like to have on the Trinity website. They have a dual spark plug per cylinder head, from past experience with cars and trucks with these types of heads I know what power boost you get. You have to get a special ignition system to get 4 wires instead of 2 but the extra power would be well worth it since the extra spark ignites the fuel much faster and makes more of a complete burn. Thanks anyway, I know I'll have more questions about somthing in a few days HA HA.
