Both the 2002 Grizzly and 2000 Kodiaks use the same oil filter. Has anyone found an aftermarket filter to replace the OEM ? I'd prefer a Fram if anyone has a cross reference number.

I have not confirmed it but someone posted on here that a NAPA 1358 was the same one??That would be nice since the dealer filter does not come with vaseline LOL

I've been using Fram oil filters in my cars and trucks since I read a Consumer Report article saying they removed both the most and the smallest particles from the oil.
I want a Fram oil filter for my Kodiak too, so I went to their web site to see if I could cross one with the NAPA1358. There was no cross reference chart, and they only listed the filter P/Ns for cars and trucks. I e-mailed them asking for the Fram filter number for the Kodiak or one that will cross with the NAPA 1358. When they get back to me I'll post what they had to say.

Fram got back to me today. A quick response, but not all that I'd hoped for. I told them I wanted the Fram filter number for my Yamaha Kodiak ATV, and that I'd heard the NAPA 1358 would work. Well they gave me their P/N to replace the NAPA filter. It's PH6017A, so if the NAPA number is OK this should work.

I searched all of the filter books until I found one that had the same thread size and thread pitch that would fit my Raptor. I have been running the AC Delco #2057 now for about 6 months. It is about twice as long as the OEM Yamaha but that is what I wanted. More filtering and more capacity. Be careful when you try the others. The AC Delco is for a 96 or 97 Mazda mini van with the V6 engine. The same one in a Puralator will hit the large gland nut and not seal. It will blow all of the oil out in a hurry when you start it. From looking at the Fram, it seems to be shallow also, so take a close look at another brand even though it will cross reference with the Mazda V6 and hold it up next to the AC Delco and compare.

PH6017A will work on the Raptor as well. It's about a 1/2-3/4" longer than the stocker. Has 2 additional drain back holes as well over the stocker.....it's the same filter for a Yamaha R1 as well. It's black too!!!

Raptorrider2001....you need one of these!

Why?
The AC has twice the filtering capacity, a by-pass valve and a pressure relief valve. And, it's blue and matches the Raptor.
