Hey Guys!

THANKS ALOT GUYS!!! Your great people! American people rocks! and of cousre Candian people too! Sorry for not relpy back for long time. Soon my uncle is going to take my Raptor to the dealership soon this week. I have been riding it couple of times and it still doing it. It doesn't smoke at all when I am warming it up or starting it up. Only when I punch the gas and having stupid false netural. No I haven't looked at the intakes. I don't to mess it up. Just let the dealer do it. I am sure you guys are right about the ring being bad. I hope it doesn't cost too much! Also I put my old junky axle back on my Raptor because my lonestar is undersize and nothing will stay tight. The hubs flops around and the axle nut (by the brake rotor) always comes loose and the axle nuts on the end always always comes loose and one time I lost it and my tire fell off and end up almost going off a huge cliff! THANK GOD! See ya I have to go get ready for school!

Have a great day
I will write more when I get more!
Dusty!
THANKS ALOT!

Wolverine 16,

Please provide the name of the Yamaha Dealer. I would like to call them directly to discuss the issue. I wonder if a dealer (with limited experience working of the engine) would really know how to properly find and fix the problems.

Hey,

No I will never sell my Raptor to anything else but maybe Quadzilla is there will be one! My dealer is "Race's" from Bradford, Pennsylvania. I like the DS they are pretty nice machine but I don't know about the size for my area and also the power "no low end and can't wheelie at all" I bought the air filter because my I want my engine to have longer life! I change my oil every month. I went for a ride today just for little bit and guess what it never smoked at all???!! That is soo weird. It's pretty cold here. well I have to go now. See ya

Have a great day,
Dusty!

DG, have you noticed tranny oil consumption? If so, the engine is sucking the tranny oil, from the seal, main bearing insert, crankcase seam, who knows until it's taken apart. Anyway, I can understand that you don't want to send any money. Just keep your tranny oil up (if it's using it) and cut back on pre-mix to about 50:1 to reduce smoking. Engine will live as long as its getting oil.

On the 2 stroke thing REMEMBER, when you change the ratio of oil to fuel going through the carb, you are actually altering the amount of fuel going into the engine. More oil through the carb is less fuel and visa versa. LEAN vs RICH

Dg,

you could have something as simple as bad rings. Do a compression check. If that is ok, I suggest that you do a engine pressure check. Your shop should be able to do it for about $40. That will tell you if and where you have an air or case leak.

Good luck. If all else fails, buy a Raptor. LOL

Good information Raptor 720.

DG, are you sucking up tranny oil? Does your compression feel OK? Do you need to tow it at 20 mph in 1st gear to get the engine running?

Sounds like you may have a bigger problem than just rich pre-mix. Go out and get a job or take courses to become a mechanic. Suck up to your parents and do some chores. Whatever it takes to make money to upgrade your leisure - like get a Raptor or good running Blaster.

16 years old, you have your whole life ahead of you. The quality of your life depends on what you do with it. Get a job, even if it sucks, gotta start some where. School!!! Education!!! Gotta have it.

OK, that's enough. I must be getting old. Better yet, been there done that. Right guys.
