Silly question: Have you set your front and rear shock preload to max already? If not, check your manual for instructions on how to do this. I'm getting 50+ ft of air with stock shocks without bottoming out. I weigh 160 lbs. Good luck.

God Bless America!

Yeah, I got it cranked all the way front and rear, i built a mx track with a backhoe and bulldozer and we have one jump were i am getting around 20 feet of air and about 70 feet long ramp to ramp, and i am a pro-powerlifter and weigh about 265. What i need is some ideas on aftermarket shocks there are so many to choose from? let me know what you think?

You can't go wrong with Elka's. They are expensive but really good shocks. Forget getting the "no-preload", triple rate, sag control option. You are way to big for this to work effectively. If anyone tells you differently, call Elka directly and talk to Martin or Mark. Both will set the record straight. You need a fairly stiff dual rate spring.

The other thing you can do is modify your landing ramps so they are steeper and/or raise the lander so you aren't falling back to the ground as far.

Also, make sure you are landing rear tires first. If you are landing with all four tires at the same time, then most of the weight of the bike is transferred to the front thus putting more load on the front shocks than the rear. This is kind of like when you put your brakes on which is why the front brakes provide most of your stopping power.

Good Luck!

I just bought works steelers and had them set -up for my weight. 270. They work sweet and feel very progressive. The diffference is night and day. they are dual rate. I got them trough Alba racing. Go to their site and see. I am having the rear revalved soon.

works are nice but they will never be the best. when it comes to shocks the best are always axis. axis shocks are really expensive tho. the best for the money are elkas. and elkas are almost as good as axis.

I have works triples on my 400EX. I ordered them and had them 3 days later. Haven't had any serious problems with them. They don't bottom out, but now the rear does. The fronts tend to "bounce" if I don't land just perfect. Not as bad as the stockers did, but the front end will still come up on me sometimes.

I ordered a complete set of Elkas for my Banshee, they take at least 3 weeks to get though...

If I were you I would get something on there quick, or at least take it easy until you do.
