I asked for a winch for my 99 wolverine for x-mas, if i get it will i have to relocate my oil cooler? if so does the relocator come with the warn mount kit, it should its the most expensive kit offered by yamaha or warn.

Thanks, Andrew 99 wolverine

I've seen it done both ways. The kit you speak of does not require the oil cooler to be moved. It consists of a complete nose assembly that sticks foreward approximately 8-10 inches. It's all actaully lower than the oil cooler. It works pretty well, but I've found that when coming of a steep incline, or riding through a deep ditch, it kinda plows the winch bracket straight in. The other way is to relocate the lights farther up and relocate the oil cooler up. The one I saw replaced his cooler with that of a kodiak to keep the oil temps in check. With that stuff out of the way he had plenty of room to slip in that warn winch. In my opinion in turned out better than the kit, and there was no ground interference. I'm consider doing the same. Hope this helped.

to 99wolverine, i took the round tube off the factory yamaha winch mount and added it to a oxlite winch mount which allowed my winch to be raised up in front of the oil cooler. this allows the angle off attack to be greater, protects the oil cooler and doesn't interfere with air flow to the cooler because the mount has three holes in it for air flow. i didn't want a winch kit that mounted the winch under the hood because a winch mounted that way is harder to use.

I got a mount for $65.00 at Cabela's. Unbolted the front bumper ,
installed the kit and moved the oil cooler
back just a little bit. Real easy. I think
the oil cooler has more protection now and
the winch is mounted in a perfect spot!
I don't think the kit was brand named , but
I got a superwinch 2000
