sayit_fmf; looks like you have the best of both worlds. Great choice! How well do you think the Z400 is going to do against the 400ex?

 

My 400ex is still stock. (I have not found an area that I think would require major upgrades yet.)
I did rejet the drz and open up the airbox a bit...but other than that, it is still stock. The drz really does blow away the 400ex. Even though they are both 400's, the bike is just plain faster...and by alot. But I will say that I can jump the 400ex farther than the bike. A bit of suspension work on the bike will help I'm sure. And as long as you land the bike on a down grade...you can air it out pretty well too.
My buddy has been riding for years and also has a 400ex (stock). We have raced a few times. The bike shines for sure. I win by a long shot.
The banshee is closer for sure..... But I still get the win with the bike. Now to shave another 40 lbs off the bike..It would be crazy.

 

Hey Austin, congrats on the new bike!
My buddy who owned a 01 B/W Raptor just traded his in for the YZ426F this morning. I was wondering where you find forums that talk about that bike so I can see what strong and maybe weaker points of the bike are.. I'm sure theres not much to complain about, maybe accept for the fact that he was having a hell of a time starting it. Dealer said that it takes abit of getting used to but once you know the bike, it gets easier. I've never ridden a dirt bike before so I'm kinda anxious to try it out. I would be more for getting an on/off road bike myself so that I would have the flexibility of getting to trails easier..
