i think they jet the carb lean for the CA version but i'm not sure. any raptor outside of california will probably have a little more power, but not enough to make much of a difference.

I agree. When I ride the dunes at Coos Bay, Or, I ride with plenty of Calif raptors. If they are slower, it's not by much. Regardless, all raptors badly need airbox mods, dynojet carb kit, and a muffler to really fly.

I have a Canadaian Raptor and the damn thing would barely run with the stock fuel screw setting. The fuel screws were at about1.5 turns stock..it would stall unless you revved it to about 3500RPM when releasing the clutch and the headers would glow cherry red

Is it fixed now?

Did you do any/all of the above mods?

Results?

Well, all I did was turn the mixture screws out about 2 full turns and it is 100% better. Much improved driveability (rideability?) this thing was literally barely getting enough fuel to stay running as delivered . I have since ordered a filter and jet kit since there seems to be a flat spot in the midrange and i am told that the kit needles are the hot setup. Now all I need is a pipe.I am still considering the HMF on ebay brand new @$265!!

Get the HMF... you will definately like the increase in power. I have had it since august and really love it. It sounds like thunder and is much snappier now.

Do you have theHMF full system? I am wondering how this full system compares to other systems as well as to the stock header. check this out --->

whipit, I have the full system. If you can get the one on e-bay... go for it. If I read right, it is from The Quad Shop. I have purchased a few times from Marty at The Quad Shop and he is a great guy to do buisness with. I bought a Lonestar axle, kill switch and Pro-flow filter from him. While you are at it have him ship you a DynaJet kit. It is perfect with the HMF system. Mine runs great. I decided that instead of just getting a slip-on I wanted the whole kit. For the difference in price...why not. Check out the Dyno charts on The Quad Shops website.
