To adjust the preload on the raptor's stock shocks, do you need a special tool? Do you need to take it to the dealer to have it done? I tried adjusting them with a few tools at home, but couldn't. Does anyone know an easy way to do this?

if you are talking about the rear shock??

Take a straight screwdriver and knock the top nut loose. Then start loosening the bottom nut that is against the spring with the same screwdriver until you soften it up to the point you desire. Then snug up the top nut to the bottom one. Very simple, about a 15 minute job the first time.

All you need to adjust the spring preload on the front shocks is a large pair of channelock pliers. Just grip the collar tight and twist in the direction you want to go. You don't need to remove the shocks to perform this.

spanner may work on the front (barely) but there is not enough room to turn it on the rear, for the rear shock I jack it up to take the load off and use a long screwdriver to tap the ring in the direction I want. and for the front channel locks are definatly the way to go, if you worry about scratching them just put a piece of cloth or chammy between the shock and tools
