i went to the BADLANDS this weekend which has alot of big rocks. Well i hit
one with my rear brake rotor on th bottom and it bent the rotor to the point
it needed to be replaced. if i had a REAL skid this would of been prevented!!

so now i will buy a PRO-TECT stainless skid and a new rotor

I don`t know about ProTect (sp?)...but I can tell you that one like the banshee`s is enough for intense abuse. I rode in very rocky terrain with Holeshots MX (the skidplate was nearly dragging all the time...ahah), and I hit it hard a couple times, and nothing broke. In Comparison, Xplor bent his DG Baja skidplate (on the Raptor) to the point it almost rubbed the disc...
Stainless steel..and wise conception is all that`s needed!

I have the Pro-Tec swingarm skidplate. I cracked the DG aluminum one apart in less than two months (without actually bending it too much). The stainless one has been on since April and is as straight today as it was the day I put it on. I had to put some spacers on the back of it so it doesn't hit on the 42 tooth sprocket. I was told that they could make one that would clear a larger sprocket.

In my opinion, it is worth the money and the couple of extra pounds.

The only other option is to get an aluminum one from RPM that is formed from .250" thick aluminum. Being formed, it doesn't have any welds to break apart.
