Got my filter and jet kit...jetted it alittle fat for the stock pipe but did so in anticipation of the aftermarket slip on ill be adding very soon.Wow, nice mid and top end improvement!! Here is my problem, tell me if you guys have seen this... the K&N does not fit in the slots on the filter lid or the slot in the bottom of the airbox. I am not talking about a tight fit...it physically WILL NOT go into the slots which are supposed to hold it in place. To top that off, I think i wounded it pretty good attempting to modify it to fit!! man i am annoyed with K&N. Im going to call them today and try to find out why the raptor filter does not fit the raptor!!!!

At first when in stalling mine, I thought I had the same problem. You need to put a little bit of grease on the flange to help it slide into place. Maybe you got the wrong filter? It is possible someone slipped the wrong filter in the box?

Anyway I ended up having to tap it down into place and then it fit fine, it is a tight fit, but that keeps the crud out.

Hope you get it
Paul

I greased both sides of both flanges before attempting to mount the damn thing. I could PARTIALLY force the bottom flange into place (only one side would go and it was so incredibly tight that it destroyed the stick on foam gasket) and this was using a great deal of force. The top flange was actually at least several millimeters wider than the groove in the airbox lid into which it was supposed to slide. no way in hell it would go on. the part number on the box was correct according to the K&N website.

I used a flat file on the edges of the filter until I got the fit I wanted. I left the top somewhat looser that the bottom so the top can be removed and replaced without to much difficulty. Still a very tight fit.

I did some measurments. the slot into which the flange on the filter should fit is 10-11mm wide. the flange itsself is 13-14mm wide. hmmm....not a good fit
