Well, I've been looking into nerfs for a while...just not stepping the 300$cdn gap for some bent tubing.
Anyways, this weekend, we went for a nice ride...and for the first time, I thought "whooops, I should have had nerfs". Nope, I didn't crash nor get injured (but it was a close call).
I was riding in some moguls (4th gear), everything was fine, hard but the shee was handling it nicely, straight ahead...then the shocks started fading (stockers!) and 2 moguls later, there was one deeper than the others. I slammed it, the shee "flew" in the air (at least my butt did)...and when coming back down, my left foot didn't meet the peg...I don't know how, I managed to put it back on with out getting eaten by the hungry tires. It just reminded me "where are the nerfs?"
So they're not only to prevent quads to getting to close to each other. It also helps staying on top, and/or rubber side down.

I hear you on the Nerfs, I did a similair stunt this past weekend. When I didn't quite make a double. Slammed hard bounced high. When landing I Missed the pegs the same way, My foot got chewed up pretty good, I now have an ankle the size of a basketball with all kinds of pretty colors.

Messed me up pretty good. LUCKILY the Boot took most of the blunt.

my next Investment, new boots and a set of nerfs.

My friend ran into the side of my quad, without the nerfs, Im not sure what would have happened, probably a broken foot/anke/leg???. Now I need another set of nerfs for the Banshee, the ones I had were from a Quadracer that I sold and the guy wanted the nerf bars. Dont know why, they were wasted, but whatever!!

It's weird that the manufacturers are worried about all kinds of safety/liability issues, yet non of them worry about a rider running over their leg. Why don't bikes come with these from the factory??

Propegs for the 400EX cost more than the other quads do. I normally see them for $199 plus shipping.

I'm glad I have my nerfs, they also help in tight woods (as long as you get the fronts through a tight set of trees, the nerfs just kinda guide the back end through)
