I am abvout to buy the HMF full system. Its manufacturer supplied dyno chart isnt too awfully impressive.... peaks at about 42 HP with jetting and no airbox. It is a very nice looking curve though. Their baseline is somewhere around 37 hp. what are othjer setups getting?? I thought i heard people talking high 40s with afull system andjetting? I will also be running a K&N as soon as i get one that fits!!

 

Check out CT's racing web site. They have a dyno HP comparison's with different pipes. They don't lie. I felt & saw an incredible increase in Hp & Torque with thier pipe on My Raptor. Best bang for the buck.

All dynos are different. I bought a HMF pipe for my DS. The peak HP was only raised 2 HP, but it's the bottom end on my quad that got a boost. Which is what I was after. Talk with Explor, he has a HMF on his Raptor & loves it.
It's like Flowmaster dual exhaust for my Dodge truck. Alot of guys around here like a dual exhaust. But look at some of the dyno claims. 20 HP but at 4,500rpm!!! Then look at a single 3 in Gibson exhaust in the stock exit location. peak HP is from 2,000-4,000rpm. Now that is where I drive, not at 4,500rpm. Dynos & numbers are somewhat decieving. Where the power is "placed" is most important to me.

 

Unless you are there. A dyno chart is good for one thing: The maker of the pipe to pump numbers to sell their product.

 

I actually found the HMF dyno's to be rather low but then again there charts are HP vs. MPH?!?! I found that kinda wierd...I thought it was supposed to be HP vs. RPM??? What sold me on HMF was the service I got over the phone and the final product. Power is amazing and the sound is way too cool. (Check out a sound wave on B l u e traxx .com -Raptor section) I myself think that most pipes must create "comparable" power. Why would a manufacturer make something that doesn't perform?!? Plus most have the same diameter, shape and bend. Except maybe the dual exaust ones which give more top end...

HMF... very happy with results. Tons of torque and midrange.
