I've heard that there are differnt style winch mounts for this bike. Warns mount (through Yamaha)is terrible. It puts the winch way out in front like a plow. Every time I drop off a ledge or come out of a ditch I plow into the ground filling the winch with rocks and mud. Someone said that there is a bracket through Cabela's that is better. They don't have any literature to send me, and I DON'T WANT TO ORDER THE SAME STYLE. If anyone has a picture, please send it to The-Jensen's@msn.com I would really appreciate it!

There is an alternative winch mount for the Wolverine that sits further back. I bought the Warn mount you mentioned, and I don't like it. My cousin just got his mount through the local Honda dealership. He was there getting some tires mounted for his Wolverine when he was told about the other winch mount. I don't have a picture of it...but it is out there.

Hey Mudrunner, I had the same Yamaha mount as you and share the same opinion of it.What I did was to cut the round brush guard off and weld it to a Oxlite(up front mount)now the winch sets in front of the oil cooler, this mount has big air holes in it so it doesn't impede air flow to the cooler, plus it also protects the cooler. Now when the mount hits the ground at severe angles I'am just about too steep.

I have the mud mount, Its easy to install the hard part is relocating the oil cooler, I cross threaded the fitting, I am in the process of getting that fixed, the way it's positioned the roller fairlead (included) sticks just below the bottom bumper bar, its really a good design you wont be dissapointed, for only 60.00 bucks through cabella's

Just ordered Cabela's! I hope it's what I'm looking for. Thanks for the help, everyone.

Does anyone want to buy the old mount?
