ARE THERE ANY IDEAS ON SOLVING THE ENGINE HEAT PROBLEM IN SUMMER? MY RIGHT LEG BECOMES VERY HOT WHILE RIDEING SLOWLY IN THE SUMMER. MAYBE INSTALLING AND EXTRA SMALL FAN AND SWITCH TO REMOVE EXHAUST HEAT ?

one thing to consider would be a manual bypass switch for the fan during the summer months. You wouldn't have any problems with it running to cool.

Another thing is replacing the thermostat switch with a cooler one.

Honda Magna's are notorious for running warm and in the forums this is what they recommend. People swear it solved the heat problems and helps with engine oil life. It would seem to me this could be applied to most any bike.

These are just suggestions.

I have a 98 grizzly. It would get so hot that it burned right through my pants. In the summer i had to spend most of the time with my feet up on the bars.
I complained to Yamaha ( Manufacturer ) and they supplied me with 2000 Heat sheilds. I suspect your grizzly is a 98, I think they started putting on the new sheilds in 99. Mine is great now. I actually took them off this winter so i can use the heat to keep me warm in the snow.
I see someone commented on bypassing the fan. This fan has little effect on the amount of heat that is burning you. These panels i got for free , after my warranty expired too. Check it out,

Good luck , Andrew
