RAPTOR toe in PLEASE HELP ME
#1
ok heres what i have .i thought my alignment was off (because of a low rear tire, check the obious first).so after pulling out my hair i need to know the factory toe in setting ,the manual says 10 to 0 mm..thats a wide spread.i cant measure the toe in on my wifes raptor because i hit a tree with it and the right upper a are is bent, just a little but enough it wont read right,,so please if someone would take the time to measure there toe in id apreciate it..1 the front end needs to be lifted off of the groung ,2 measure the width of the fronttires on the front of the tread , 3,rotate the tires and measure the same spot in the rear of the front tires.the diffrence in measurement is the toe in.....it takes about 5 minutes ,,thank you in advance for any help anyone can give me

You can set the toe to any number you want JUST KNOW THAT the more toe you have, the more the atv will want to "track" and give you that tipping feeling. It will cause the tire to roll on its side and really through you toward the outside of your turn. It is almost like oversteering on a car.
I go with 2-5mm of toe to help eliminate the problem

The setting that are on mine are whatever was put on when it was coming down the assembly line. I would say half the hours on my are at speeds over 40 mph and mine tracks very well or at least I think it does. I don't think I have hi speed wobble but if do or I don't I am not messing with it unless I would happen to knock it out hitting something and then I might try something different just to see what would happen. I just hate to mess with something when it working OK.

High speed wobble is NOT toe in or out. It is a tire balance, bent rim, or caster problem. Check for damage!!!!

thank you raptor720..i would have kept playing with the alignment.since the wobble is felt in the front its the front ,,correct ? could it be transfered from the rear ? this only happened after i played with my alignment.the more i played with the alignment it got better but its still there.can atv tires be checked on a regular tire balancer ? thanx for all the help ,seems like a lot of questions but i want to cover my bases.

Usually you don't need to balance atv tires BUT it could be that you are running at a fairly high speed and have a tire that is slightly out of balance. There is no reason why the tires cannot be balanced on a dynamic wheel balancer and the shop can use the adhesive backed weights to correct any problem. This will also tell you if you have a bent rim.
Yes on the rear as well. A bent rear rim can appear as a shimmy in the front in some cases.
Before you go after alignment issues check the rims and tires.
