Hey i have a 2002 bigbear and i just snorkeled it out. Its kinda starving for air so i would have to adjust my air flow (pilot) screw right? Thats located on the inside of the float bowl right? Any help to get me going good again will be appreciated. I'm leaving friday night to go for the weekend to ride and i wanna have it running good by then. Thanks a lot

The air screw is for 1/4 throttle and less. 1/4 - 3/4 is controlled by the needle and 3/4 - full is controlled by the main jet. There is some overlap between the different circuits, but that is the basic guide to tuning the carb. If the snorkel is restrictive, it should effect the upper range more than down low. I would play with the needle setting first. Raise the clip to lean out the midrange first and see what happens. Also, if this is an option, make your snorkel out of larger diameter tubing so you don't restrict the airflow as much. Is the snorkel homemade or did you buy a kit? If you bought a kit, call whoever you bought it from or the manufacturer for jetting recommendations.

Its homeade not a kit. Its made out of 1 1/2 inch tube. I did put a lot of bends in it thats bad i know. Its effecting my lower range when i go slow through mud or if i were to start in a high gear and go it then starts to putter. So i figure i adjust the pilot screw so i get a little more gas. I'm working on it as we speak i came in to see if anyone has posted anything. Well i'm gonna go look at it some more. Thanks

If its sputtering, you are rich. You will need to lean it out. Adjusting the air screw to add gas will only make it worse. The air screw will help off idle, but for mid range and top end, you will need to lean out the needle and main jet.
