My raptor has the tranny go...say like 3 months ago now, and it's been at the dealer ever since! Now, after finally finding out what is wrong with it, they tell me some thing about the shiftfork, and 2nd and forth gear, since it is "user error" and therefore not covered under the warrenty, i have to pay, however, yahamaha agreed to pay for the cost that they took to take it apart! so i am about to just take my raptor home and fix it myself, only thing i need to know is, should i fight yamaha and get them to fix it, or take it and find fortin gears and fix it my self. this leves me with a couple of questions....1. HOW can i find fortin gears? there is nothig in atv sport that says where they come from. 2.how hard is if to re-assemble my tranny if i had a manual? any, ANY help would be greatly appreciated!

Redrocker,
What year is your Raptor and how many hours did it have on it before the transmission blew?

What VIN#'s are we talking about here? Mine is over 24000 with no troubles. Just continuing with the theory of early vin#'s having the problems. ??

My only question is... where the heck did you learn to write?! You need to go back to grade school...

"forth gear", "warrenty", "yahamaha", and what the heck is "fortin gears"???

All I have to say is... DAMN...

If your ATV maintainence is anything like your grammar I can see why your quad broke down... sheesh.
