One thing I forgot to mention, why an F250?? Everyone I know that bought a 3/4 ton pickup wishes for the 1 ton. Most people buy a heavy duty truck and haul a camper or tow trailers or both. The F350 is only a few hundred dollars more. I never regret the choice of the F350 over a 250. However dealers often have better selection and incentives on the F250's. The ride quality is about dead even and as I understand it you get beefier axles on the 350.

I would love to have a new truck with a powerstroke. I am not biased I have a 2000 F250 I use for work and a 97 Z-71 that use for toy hauler. The Ford has 5.4L , with auto trans and is 2WD and the best mileage,I have ever gotten is 12mpg. The Chev. gets 16 to 17mpg unloaded, and about 10mpg,pulling a 24ft enclosed trailer. I haven't pulled the trailer with the Ford, mainly because it's my work truck and I'm afraid it would break me buying gas.If you pull alot of heavy loads buy the diesel I think the savings on your fuel bill will probably make most of your truck payment. Also I think Ford will be replacing the 7.3 engine with a camless 6.0L in 2003. It is said to be more powerful, but will it be as reliable as the 7.3. Here is a address you can read the article .click here

If I'm not mistaken, I thought this was the Yamaha ATV section.

Yes, this is the Yamaha section, but Yamaha's don't get to all the riding areas without a little help. Hence the topic about a Yamaha carrier. If it makes you feel better, rename the post "Lookin' at new Yamaha carrier. V-10 SuperDuty Ford F-250 Lariet". Bluetrax x.com has a lounge section where topics like this can be posted, but in this forum we make do.

Mr45auto, All Superduties are rated for 10,000 towing capacity, which is why I bought mine, the F350 does have a higher bed payload capacity. I compared the rear springs on my F250 on the dealer lot to a F350 dually and they are the same. Just my $.02

Yeah, you'll only be disappointed if you BUY the Chevy. Saturday a couple of buddies were coming back from a job in Detroit on I-75 in their new Chevy HD crew cab (less than 6000 miles on it) when the HEATER CORE blows up. Engine coolant starts spraying on the inside of the windshield and the front door windows. They said their new Chevy sort of reminded them of the Detroit Lions. It went to the dealer this morning. Skip the "Chebies" and stick to Ford quality.

What the difference between the Detroit Lions & the Taliban?

The Taliban has a running game...

I think as long as you are buying an American made truck you can't go wrong. You can say what you want about the better quality of Japanese cars but I have yet to see a Toyota, Mazda etc. pull 400+ bushel grain wagons out of a feild or pull a 35ft trailer 70+ mph on the highway.
Japanese trucks are just tall cars.
