I was just wondering all in all how are the 2002 Raptors holding up and If I buy one would I have to worry about breaking something if I ride REALLY hard. I used to have a 300ex but have put in plenty of time on fast bikes like banshees and 250r's so ill be able to handle it but how much faster (seet of the pants feeling) is a rapter than a 250r. I will be able to make the payments pretty easy but I cant afford a big repair bill so I wanty to know if it will be reliable. thanks for any help in advance

What would your other choice be? No matter what you buy the same question applies.

just get the extended warranty when you buy it. I'm pretty sure the dealer cost for the 3 year is $300. I paid $350 for mine.

My 2001 was one of the first out. And I have still never had any problems. I have never haad a sport bike that was such low maintince as my raptor.

Well as far as reliability I was pretty much talking about tranny problems. and if people were having problems with the 02's I wouldn't get a ds I'd probably get a built used EX. I grew up with hondas but they definetly need to step or to the plate or should I say the conmpetition.

I have a 2001, I havn't had the tranny issue, or carb issue, Or the rear axle break on me, And I may not be the best rider, but I do push the envelope.

I had more issues with Dealers, And mechanices than anything.

I think jettin the carbs for the performance parts is what gave me the most headache.

Any big weekend trip at dunes or trail you'll see All brands makes and models with people trying to do repairs.

To my knowledge I havn't heard one issue with The 2002 yet.
