I have a '02 Raptor. I tried to put a K&N filter on my Raptor today and I couldn't get the damn air lid back on. I could kill a Yamaha engineer right now! Is there any kind of aftermarket air box for the Raptors? I chipped some of the plastic on the stock airbox and lid trying to put it back on. I really don't want to buy a stock replacement if there are any aftermarket ones available.

Are there any tricks to putting the stock one on? I messed with it for an hour until I got mad and broke it.
Are there any cheaper aftermarket ones?

With my k&n I run the Pro-Design Pro-Flow intake plate. I had no problems putting it in. Pro-Design sells them for a little over a hundred bucks. and they work great. call um at 1-(714)-534-0620.

check out ctracing.com under the Raptor section. I have their airbox and am happy with it. It uses a TRX250R filter. BTW, it is the same as the Graydon box in my signature. It runs appx. $200 plus $30-$40 for the filter.

Turn the filter upside down and make sure you put it in squarely, is that a word, and it will work......Put the front of the lid on and work it toward the back and it will just pop in.

sandgod is right flip it over, if you still need to mod the airbox, go pro-flow with k&n bolt on around $130 with filter and get a cheap crankcase breather filter and just leave the lid off, this will give you a definate power boost
