Anyone tried altering the "as-recommended" 4th clip position for potentially better performance?

Interesting question, 6 weeks back before I oversized my motor, I was trying to figure out why my riding partner's raptor ran smoother than mine. we both had the same pipes, air-filter and box mods, we jetted our quads at the same time the same way same jets and airmix settings. his just ran better than mine. we compared the needle jets and you see a very slight difference, I called dynojet, the told to measure (micrometer) the needles and call them back or to just move up a notch or two on the clip, not having a micrometer I moved the clips up and had my motor running way too lean (plug was whiter than new) and didnt feel right, so I put it back to the 4spot. not terribly useful
