Any Kodiak owners.....
I want to replace my tires with something larger, but use the stock wheels and no lift kit or spacers.

What size tires are any of you using?

Thanks

I just put BearClaws on my 01 Kodiak. I stayed with the stock size up front so as to not lose any handleing. I went with 1(one) extra inch on the rear.

WHAT A HUGE DIFFERANCE! It is like riding a new quad.

The BearClaw was a nice choice because its a 6ply with a very nice tread. Its a slightly rougher ride but MUCH more stable.

I looked at Bear Claws tonight, but the dealer didn't have my size. They are 4 ply, the ones available here in Canada anyways. I also looked at 4 ply Blackwaters. Price wise the Bear Claws are better, I think I would go with them.

I'm not sure if I should be looking at a 6 ply with the type of riding I do. There are some Maxxis availabe, but not sure if they come in an approprate size.

Going with a different size on the front...you'll have to be careful not to do any riding on hard surfaces in 4wd. You'll mess up your driveline for sure. I won't go that route. I'll make sure I have the same height front and back.

I did something else I hadn't planned on though, I ended up buying a 1" lift kit. This should allow me some more flexibility for sizes. I just hope it doesn't ruin the front CV joints. I may end up with spacers too.

I'm not sure that Kenda would make two differant tires... anythings possible tho.

I am misstaken, I went an inch wider not taller... need to change my sig.

Goodluck, no matter what you decide.
