Hey everyone I have some questions about the Yamaha Warrior. My brother is deciding between the Honda 400ex and 300ex and I just thought of the Warrior. I went to my local Yamaha Dealer the other week and there was a guy test riding one and I watched his thumb and he would just barely hit the gas and that thing would accelerate fast. Here are some of my questions.
1)Is it realiable?
2)Does it have more power than a 300ex and how close is it to a 400ex?
3)How good is the suspension on the Warrior?
4)My brother would just be riding trails and do maybe a few tiny jumps so is it good for Trail riding? If I think of anything else I will post it in a reply instead of editing this message. Oh I just remembered to ask this, What was the Warrior's 1st year on the market because he is going to be buying used. Thanks again Matt

I have had a 1988,1995 and still a 1998 Warrior. It is very very reliable. Never had any problems. The 400EX is stronger and way better suspended than the Warrior and the better choice all except no reverse. The warrior will out perform the 300EX in just about everything. Hope this helps.

The Warrior first came out in 1986 or 1987 I think and somewhere in the early 1990s the engine was moved a little further back in the frame and the angle at where the a-arms bolted to the frame was changed to make the front end some lighter and to smooth out square hits like logs, small drop offs and rocks. Hope this helps.

The warrior is very reliable. I belive the 87-9? Have superior trailing with the heavy front end for those tight corners real fast. Although they do have very weak a-arms. The warrior is also very cheap the moddify. A WB-PM should be in the eyes of any warrior owner.

the warrior is one of the best quads ever made, its very reliable, i have a 89' warrior and its still goin strong. I ahve my own trails and jumps and it is awsome. But the 400ex is alot sportier. I would choose the warrior over the 300ex easily.

i have an 88 warrior and it is very reliable. it has all kinds of power and can out do the 300ex on ever level. it may not be as powerful as the 400ex but it can be with very little money
