Is it true that jetted engines don't run as well in cold weather? What causes this and how can it be fixed if it is true?

no they run better because you can make adjustments
when the air is colder more dense, so you getting more air and you need to add more fuel to compensate. no big deal.

4-strokes might pop a little and 2-strokes will zing a little more. The cooler air makes the motor run lean a tad. You do not need to change your jet's unless you were running deadly lean in the summer.
