Winch on grizzly
#1
I was thinking about getting the 2000 warn winch for my 2002 grizzly 660 and was wondering what you have to do to put it on. Like what kind of body mods do you have to do to mount it and how is one mounted up in there? I was also wondering if it was worth it to buy one. Its a good deal since I just bought the grizzly you get the warn winch for like 70.00 so I thought about getting it. any info on how you mount it and all would be great.

No body mods, you will get instructions with pics. Just be sure
you don't get any wires on the motor, use the wire ties they give
you.You will get a mounting plate with it from yamaha. Get a roller
fairlead from 4wheelparts.com 29.00 plus shipping. The winch is
worth 275.00 if you can get it for 70.00 sell it, or use it. Have
not used mine yet.

Buy it and put it on for $70 it's money well spent. You may not use
it much but when you need you will think $70 was cheap. Installation
is pretty straight foward should take about3-4hrs. to do a very clean
and sanitary job. Run the wires along the left side high and heat
shouldn't be a problem. Mount the solenoid on the left outside of the
trunk behind the snorkel tube. You will have alot of the body work
off but it just makes it easier to do the instalition.

I put the solenoid right on the bracket that holds down the battery. It just barely clears the seat, doesn't take up space in the "trunk", and is very protected from the elements. Then I put the big grey switch right in the middle of the warning label on the left front fender. Very convenient.
