I know that most engines need to be checked after break in to make sure the valves are working right but my friends dealer did not say anything about that to him for his raptor. I was also wondering if the YZF bikes would need a valve tune up also? I just got a YZ250F and was not told about any after break in service either. It would really suck if we messed up these engines from not getting them checked out. Should I bring this to the dealers attension?

spitfire,
My Dealer told me to bring the 660r back in at 30 hours or approx. 5 tanks of fuel for valve check.

Yep, valves must be adjusted after initial break in. Break in period for the Raptor is 20hrs, not sure about the 250f.....owners manual should indicate this.

Watch them do the work. Many dealers have ripped off buyers with the first tune-up you are supposed to have performed by an authorised service dept. I recommend marking some bolts and taking photographs.
