Actually, I did notice the Raptor 80 with the 660 light on it... It looked alright, but rather oversized.

I wonder if perhaps you could take the reflectors of the 80 and fit them with actual lights so your son could have real lights that aren't too big (which would also allow you to keep the lights on your own Raptor).

The young test pilot is my 13 year old son Skyler. He is 5'tall, 85lbs dripping wet. The 660 Raptor is his. He is a very qualified test pilot, but I wish he'd had his helmet on. He is a very good rider, on his third quad.
... The recipiant of the new Raptorette, Ian, age 5 in April, was inside watching cartoons when we did this quick test and photo shoot. Hence the forgotten headlight.
... I ride the DS. I also rode the new Raptorette, but I nearly bottom out the rear suspension just sitting on it. I'm not the best test pilot in this case...But it seemed to handle just fine, despite the too stiff front shocks and too soft rear. Replacement springs are already on the way from Works.

I submitted the pictures and "the story" to dirtwheels and ATV sport. I've had no response. I think this is the kind of story their major sponsers, like Yamaha, really don't want to see. Call me sour grapes, or just a spoiler, but I took their brand new model and made it into what it should have been in the first place.
..... The 660 Raptor is a great quad, and broke new ground. The Raptor 80 should have been earth shattering as well, not just pretty new plastic. I got lucky and was able to make the right parts fit the old design in the new package, and got what I, and everybody else for that matter, wanted, the true Mini-Raptor.
......It took guts (and a little manic compulsive obsessive disorder) to cut up that beautiful new mini last week. But now I look at what I've created, the pile of discarded neolithic Badger parts, and am very proud of my efforts, both in terms of concept and engineering as well as the quality of the work, and getting it done before the sleighbell's deadline.
......Merry Christmas everybody!!

I sent the Works shocks back for some adjustments to the dampening, It was a little tight in front and a little loose in the caboose. It felt like it to me, and my older son, age 13, who is the official test pilot, said, after thrashing it through a little whooped out MX track, "There was no give in the front, and the back was bouncing up and hitting him in the butt".
......The great thing about Works shocks is being able to do practically anything with them, and adjustments are free for the first 30 days. They have more different bits, pieces and combinations than anyone. And of course we want to fine tune this suspension, even though its true rider is not thrashing it at all, but putting along in first gear. Eventually he will put it to the test, but right now he has a lot of catching up to do before he pushes the limits of this little Raptorette. Fine tuning the shocks is also going to result in an increase in travel to 7" front and rear.
......ATV ACTION Magazine Has responded with an interest in doing an article on the little Raptorette. They want to use my 13 year old test pilot for pictures, not the real rider, age 5 in April, which is when they plan to run a "teaser" of the Raptorette.
......I guess it's just not politically correct to put your 5 year old on a quad normally rated for a 12 year old, and on an unmodified Raptor 80, I would have to agree. The point is, after all, that Good Suspension and Handling is the Best Saftey Feature of all, no matter what the age of the rider.
And they really can't afford to totally pi$$ off their major advertisers.

fourlix- congrats. If you build it they will come. Growing up if it had to be put together, we did not get it. Making up for lost time now.
