PS2, ATV OFF ROAD FURY...
#1
Finally got PS2 from my wife for X-mas w/ ATV OFF ROAD FURY, (and a Glock), sweet. Any players out there know the best bikes? I've been using the Yamy black/white banshee which seems fast. Although a friend beat me on a Polaris 500 of all things. I need to get a memory card so I don't have to start over every time though. Any tips appreciated....later.

hey, i got ps2 and that game for x-mas too, its sweeeet
the best bikes depend on what your doing, for a pro series, i use the ravage with the most speed and acceleration, then i go to the garage and set the tire friction to the max, soften the springs and shocks, and bump the gearing a little closer to more acceleration.
after beating the pro series, you unlock the ravage 1000 (best bike)
hope this helps and have fun!

Appreciate the codes and tips. Hoping to get Metal Gear Solid II at some point as I hear it's like the ultimate video game right now.
The Glock I got is a model 22 .40 cal. I haven't shot it yet but planning on it this weekend. I initially wanted a .45 cal but I understand the .40 cal is still a big bore and more accurate but a little less knockdown power than the .45. I've spoke w/ a few troopers and .40 cal is what they carry but apparently there's a debate about .40 v/s .45 cal. There is a shortage of Glocks now due to they are issued to military and police with everything going on right now.

Rent Metal gear, if you can. It is awesome but you'll probably play it till you beat it. then never p/u again.
if you like off road fury check out the Mcgrath MX game. it's as close to off road fury as i've come. The ricky carmichael sucked.
if you like guns and machines you must get Grand theft auto III. in fact, rent metal gear but lay the cash down for GTA3. it's a keeper.

Sounds like you had a good x-mas .
Anyway, I think the best bike is the Havoc Performer or Proformer (I can't rememeber which it is, but it is the Red bike with a little bit of yellow). It's not the fastest overall, but I think it is the best all around. The Polaris 500 and the Green and Yellow Havoc are the fastest ones, not counting the 1000. Although they will get the 1000 off the line and are about even on top end. It's too bad that they have sucky traction cause you lose too much speed in the corners. If you are looking for a real life bike I would have to say that the 400ex is my choice. It's a little quicker than the Banshee, and has the same top speed. Oh, and no...the Raptor didnt' make it into the game. They said that the reason it is on the Box is because the box art was made well before the finished copy of the game, and they ended up dropping the Raptor. That's kind of a bummer, but it's still a great game.
I just got Metal Gear Solid II and it is pretty cool. Story wise I don't think it is as good as the first, but that's just my opinion. Gameplay is a little bit better because you can now shoot from the first person perspective. The graphics are also better, but it's still tough to play in that stupid top down view (for me anyway).
GTA3 (Grand Theft Auto 3) is also a great game...I just got that one too. I wish that they took their "gang alliance" concept from GTA2 a step further for GTA3, but they didn't...they pretty much just dropped it.
Now, my all around Favorite game next to Offroad Fury would have to be Gran Turismo 3 A-spec. That game just plain rocks. It's a lot better than the first two Gran Turismo's except for the fact that they cut out a lot of the cars. That really sucks, but the rest of the game makes up for it. The graphics are amazing...I think it's the best looking game that I have seen for the PS2. It can get kind of repetitive if you are playing it by yourself...it's a lot more fun with a few friends over (kind of like offroad fury).
Whatever you do stay away from a game called PARIS-DAKAR RALLY. It caught my eye in the store because it had a picture of a Banshee on the back of it. I dished out my $40 and when I got home I was really dissapointed. This is by far the worst Playstation 2 game I have ever played. I think that they could have made a better looking/sounding/playing game on an Atari. I played it for 5 minutes after I got it home, then I put it back in the case and haven't touched it since. It's horrible.
Well, I'll stop rambling on about this crap now. Enjoy your PS2!!!
