Yoshi came in at 46.2 -- but remember, the test was biased in a big way and really does not tell the true story. From what I gathered here, it looks like Alan was allowed to do all tests himself. What a cop out when he said that he just tested with what each mfg recommended. Is Alan or Graydon going to pay for a new motor when his "no air box lid" recommendations are used in mud or a wet environment?? What a joke a "shoot out" should be independent and unbiased.
On the issue of a removed lid, yes it will make more power (provided that you install the correct larger jets) and no there is not a turbulance problem. The air is columized once it enters the air filter not before.

Why wasn't the Yamaha GYT full muffler/header tested? I like this one but can't get the horsepower and torque from anywhere including Yamaha. Does anyone know? Have header/muffler carbon fibre, jet kit stage two (not installed yet), k/n, no snorkel, 92 octane gas 76

I think that DW can be easily biased in their shootout findings. Just look and see who has the biggest advertisement in the mag to find the winner. If you talk to four stroke engine builders who do not have a stake in any pipe you will find many talking highly of The raptor LRD system and the Curtis Sparks x6.
