I got a new yoshimura pipe and am going to rejet the carbs on my raptor. I know what the mains and needles do, but what is the pilot jet's job?

It supplies fuel during idle or slow speeds, once you get going the main jet takes over. The pilot jet is mostly for idleing.

Check www.yamaharaptor.com, it has a great write-up on carb tuning in the Tech Tips section.
