i just got hub spacers for my 2000 warrior. they give me 2.5 inches on each side so i get a total of 5". some people tell me that they weaken your axle alot. is this true? has anyone ever had a bent or broken axle because of the hub spacers or knows of anyone who had this problem?

I have a pair of them on my banshee axel. It is true that now the axel is more weak, and I dont jump to hight because I am thinking about that axel. But its not true that its get thaaatttt weak. I have jump and ride hard with no problems. BUT You must be alert for hard hits to the axel like stright rutes or holes.

Physics: Spacer place the wheels our further, which in turn creates more leverage to bend your axle. The larger the spacer, the larger your chance of bending your axle.
But I believe actually bending the axle is low, unless you are an agressive rider. (IMHO)
And if you are considering a wider axle, then using spacers is a good intermediate step. It allows you to try out different widths inexpensively. If you bend your axle it wouldn't be a huge problem, as you were planning on a new axle anyway?
