Dear Grizzly Owners:

I was just about decided on the SP700 (there arent any, 1.5 months wait to get one) but, just came across a new Green Grizzly 660 with just 0.7 miles on it at a really great price. Please help me, what happened with the loose front left wheel? is that a problem with earlier manufactured models?? Is it fixed now, please let me know! This bike was bought on Dec 18 2001, is that late enough? What about the clanking noise when going on 4x4 mode?

Silver Bear I know you were compiling data on this matter, can you help me out! The price im getting is 1,100 dls. less than the 700!! what are your oppinions on this?

ANY HELP would be really really greatly appreciated!!!! I have to decide by this afternoon!

Thanx a million in advance!

I know i know i am not an owner, but i do know more about this machine than some owners that i know. the loose left axel could be a problem, but is esily corrected with a cheap c-clip. Most people (and magazines) say that the 4x4 clanking noises are normal.

hey rduran'

i own a grizzly, and maybe i can help you. i have had my grizzly for months now, and without a single problem. i have seen people who have posted about the front axle, and hear its just a clip to fix it, but i havent had a problem with that on mine. i heard about the gas boiling, but havent seen it on mine, and never do i ride it easy. as for the clanking noise in 4x4. i have never heard it on mine, nor have i got any of the vibration people have talked about. i dont know if it is norman to have these, couse mine doesn't. i can tell you, if you want to compare the grizzly to the 700 sportsman. there is nothing the 700 can do that the grizzly cant. and the ammount of maintance on the polaris, along with the breakdown factor, makes it an easy desition to me. i have seen people who have said the belt slips easy on the grizzly, but i have had mine to the tank without it slipping. if it ever does, then the quick drain clip would be great to have. itcomes stock on the grizzly. the grizzly suspencion is ausome too, and surly can jump alot easier than the 700 due to the weight of the 700. good luck with your desition.

My Grizz has also been trouble free. It seems all machines shipped after July 2001 had all or most of the problems corrected before they left the factory. I wouldn't hesitate to by a new Grizz.

If I knew it hadn't had any owner abuse in that .7 miles and hadn't been vandalized, I would get it. A 700 is in no way worth $1100 more than a Grizz. Side by side for the same price, I'd take the Yamaha. The Polaris is awesome too, but you may have a heck of deal here that can really sway your choice. It would be enough for me if it was legit.

I haven't had any problems with my Grizz in 500 miles so far. Haven't abused it though either, and that is a big factor with any quad. Some of these guys on the forums as a whole can tear up anything. Some guys are just rougher than others. Just think about people you know that rag out their cars real quick. You know the ones that blow engines and transmissions at 30K miles. Same thing applies to quads.

Rduran~

JUMP on it. You know I would still pick the Grizz over the 700 at the same price, but at that much less...sheez, you could likely even make money on it. Sorry that I didn't see this post until late in the PM, I hope you got it. The front axle deal is a simple fix, and from all the publicity we've made, it appears that dealers are making it right. I know I found one here real close, and it's not a problem. So, I hope you go for it, you won't be sorry.

Jumped on it and did not want to get off it!!! So....I bought it!! Showroom new! Poor guy, sold it because wife said "either me or the quad".....AND HE CHOSE THE WIFE!!! dumb guy! hahahaha.

He just bought it the 28th of december, literally not even dust on it! It feels like a speeding bullet, maybe a little tipy, so brand new rims and tires it is!

PLEASE READ MY NEW POST ON THE TIRES MATTER and see if you can help me. Title of post "Proud new owner".

Thanx a lot guys!

Keep on riddin'

I will tell you this much, 12" wide tires on ITP regular offset rims make a world of difference in how stable it feels. In stock form, I never came close to flipping it, but it did feel a little uneasy in some situations. The same places are nothing now with the wider setup. Glad you got it man. I just rode mine around for the first time in a couple weeks. Dang cold outside, but I still wanted to stay out in it. May have to take it up in the woods here in a bit.
