Hey, yep I'm new here, but I have some problems. First, the starter on my raptor doesn't want to engage again, my dealer fixed it 9 months ago. Is this a problem with Raptors or mine or my dealer. How do I fix it? Second, jetting, can't figure it out no mater how many times I try. I have a FMF PC IV w/ head pipe, pro flo intake w/ foam filter, and no air box lid. The head pipe glows red quickly, puffs a little black smoke, but the plug is fairly white. It also seems a little slugish over the entire range. I live at sea level and have a 155/160 mains and a 22.5 pilot

No starter problems with mine, but I have heard of a couple of people that had them. I don't know if it was the same problem though. As far as jetting, get a DYNOJET/K&N STAGE 2 kit. Notice the caps, the kit is that important. Just changing the mains will not affect the entire fuel curve, just a portion of it. The Dynojet kit (or K&N Stage 2, same EXACT kit) includes new needles and diaphram springs, which work with the new main jets included to modify the entire fuel curve. Just changing the main jets will leave you lean in the low to mid range, which is why your header is glowing. The cheapest I've seen the kit is www.rockymountain.atv for about $50. I paid $70 from Magic Racing, and am very happy with the results, even with my stock pipe. Like EDD said, with the Dynojet kit, you'll only do it once. Put this jet kit in and you won't believe the difference, especially with your aftermarket pipe. Do it as soon as possible, as running lean is dangerous and can get expensive.

Here's what you need for jetting with no airbox lid: 27.5 pilots, needles moved up one notch and 170/175 mains. That should put you real close.
