my son has an 89 blaster that is in real good shape for its age. but i figured i would rip the top end off to check it out (should of done a compression test first but forgot). i brought the cylinder to get checked at a local dealer and he told me to run it to i blow it heheh that was interesting! so its safe to say i brought it elsewhere. i went to a machine shop and they said it looks in good shape there is still cross haching and no worn spots. so there going to hone it for me and i will still run a stock piston. will there be to much clearence in there now because of the honing? i just dont want the thing slapping all around in there.
everyone says put on the oil pump block off kit but if this piston was in that good of shape after 12 or so years why would anyone change? i admit it runs real rich. i was told when i bought it that there wasnt much ride time on it but didnt beleive it. maybe it was true.

Put it back together. If it has over 100 pounds of compression, just have him ride it. That's it.
