i have climbed a couple of real steep hills with my grizzly, and i too think its the driver. i just toped a hill last weekend, and my brother, who just bought one, almost endoed till i rammed his rearend with my quad to stop it. he has a warrior, and was not used to the size of the grizzly, and it took him for a loop till he got his diffs locked in. i can get it up anything, but it took time to get used to how it runs apposed to a smaller quad. he is also learning now, after a scare he wont soon forget. by the way, his grizzly had 1 1/2 hours on it when he tried it. not a good time to endo a quad, streight from the store, lol.

I just took my Grizz out for its first real ride on Saturday. I'm very, VERY impressed. Not only is it water-tight (only 4 hours on it and followed 7 other quads into DEEP water *a butt puckering moment*) but it climbs VERY well. There were two Polaris 400's that went up this steep incline first and they almost flipped. When they saw me coming they jumped off and were waiting for me incase the front of the Grizz started to come up. It didn't to my surprise. It is very sure footed!

Sorry for the late reply's, work's been hectic. Anyways here's the catchup

Mich660~

The armor package that I got runs $379.88 list, I got it for $341.89 from Ponderay Yamaha in Sandpoint, Idaho. It didn't add very much weight at all, it's surprising how light large aluminum pieces really are. I've only had it out a couple of times to really make use of the armor, but it's in snow up here right now, so it is holding up fine. The big question will be how it holds up once the snow is gone. I'll keep you all posted on that. Thanks for the compliments on my reverse limiter switch. Usually, I don't think a dealer would normally do something like that, but with that said, a fellow on another board took my directions into his dealer and his dealer is doing it. So, it never hurts to ask.

Personally, I think it comes down to rider experience. The Grizz will come up if you don't know what you're doing or are not experienced with the type of snappy power the Grizz has. You can keep the front down, or you can bring it up, especially on hills, if you want to, or if your not familiar with the quad. Mich's example is a perfect one of a person not expecting the kind of power that is available at your command.

Welcome to the club! I hate to see all the posting from people who claim the Grizzly has water problems, and it doesn't help when a magazine makes that comment. I believe the magazine that made that comment was likely ignorant of the limiter facts, and did what most people do, engage the 4X4 lock while going faster than 3mph. All I can do is speak from experience, and I know my Grizz loves water, up to the headlights and never misses a beat. Enjoy that new bear of yours!
