I found a dealer in CA that will give a 02 grizz for $5,885 (american). Now is that a good deal? now when i bring it back to the states what kind of fees am i going to have to pay? is it going to be worth it? some one that has done this before, please respond.

I believe being a Honda, Suzuki or Yamaha you will have to pay a duty fee at the border. But if you bought a Polaris you would not. However I don't know the % amount, it's like 5-10%.

That is an incredible price. As for purchasing a Yamaha from our northern neighbors, it's a piece of cake. When I bought my wifes Kodiak up there a couple months ago, I paid $191.00 in shipping & $78.00 for customs. Thats all! Now, if you have a state sales tax, you will have to pay your state sales tax to your state when you register it. Be forwarned, though, that your Grizz most likely will come unassembled. My Kodiak did, which surprised the heck out of me, but it really was a piece of cake to put together, and I learned quite a bit more about that quad than I knew about my Grizzly just from the experience.

If you have any other questions regarding purchasing a quad in Canada, just hollar.

P.S. You did know that American Yamaha dealers don't have to honor any warrenty work on a Canadian purchased quad, right?

yes i did know that. When you put it together are there a whole lot of peices. I am not all that machanicaly inclined so i will probably just pay my local dealer to do it for me. I think i decided on getting the dirt devil kit from that site you gave me, for me i think they would be the best choice. why don't you have to pay a duty tax for polaris?

I believe Polaris doesn't because it is a USA made quad, all the others are not.

Lsnake68~

You don't have to pay duty on Polaris or Arctic Cat quads because they are considered "American Made" and due to NAFTA that makes it duty free. Which kinda cracks me up, Suzuki owns over 30% of Arctic Cat and the drive train and engine are Suzuki, but hey...they're assembled in America, same with Polaris, although I don't remember off the top of my head the foreign peices they have on their quads.

It's not bad. On the Kodiak I had to bolt the front suspension together, plug all the wires together at the wiring harness, install the rear wheel hub, and then the skid plates, fit & finish. If I had known it was coming unassembled I would have requested an assembly manuel. My arctic cat came with one, but the Kodiak didn't.

Those Dirt Devil kits look good. You'll be real happy with the service from East Kentucky Motorsports. Let me know what you think of the kit once you get it. BTW, what size are you going?

27'' black/chrome. I chose that color because i think they will look real nice with a red grizz.
