What kind of gains could I get out of a cam and piston combo compared to going big bore with same port work exhaust so on as so forth?

i went with fst's piston and cam. great increase. as far as the big bores go, i have not raced any or ridden any. i just wanted to save the whole "boring" thing til it needed it. but who knows i may not even have it by then. let your wallet decide when you get the info you want. how fast can you afford to be?

if you go with a high comp piston you are going to have to do cylinder work anyway, so you might as well go with a 102mm piston. piston/cam combo should give you better low end and stronger throughout power band depending on the cam. polish and port are "highly recommended", but a 5 valve port should be done by someone with experience to get the most out of it

i got it from fourstroketech dot com. the piston was $300 and the cam was$300 with a $150 core. so it only will cost 150 after you send yours back. i never sent mine back. just in case. you'll also need stronger clutch springs and valve springs. in all it will cost around $800. cheap for the gains. because it will rip. and i've had no problems at all. i rarely get that lag in the starter while it's trying to turn the engine over. 93 octane works best. i tried vp green and it actually slowed me down a half second in 300ft. i mixed it a thousand different ways with simular results. it just burns too slow. i don't know of any cylinder work like vraptor was talking about, but i didn't do the work. i've ridden several stock raptors since this and can't believe the difference. i did not have to rejet after the work. the 150-155 was perfect. i had already moved up for the yoshi. you won't be disappointed. all i'm gonna do for this race season is a pro-design intake with a k&n and remove the lid and rejet.
