I just bought a Banshee and was wondering if you need to get the whole pipe or can just get the slip on like for a four stoke?

You need to get the whole pipe to see a performance increase. With a 2 stroke the power comes from the "tuning" of the pipe. On a 4 stroke you gain performance primarily from using a less restrictive exhaust (louder).

That's not to say that you can't put a silencer on a 2 stroke if you feel a need but in reality it will not get you much of anything except more noise. I'm pretty sure that the aftermarket silencers are less restrictive (louder) than the stock ones and MAY give you a LITTLE power increase but not enough to justify the cost. Get a pipe that suits your riding style (low-end or top-end) and you'll feel like you just got a whole new Banshee.

Good luck with your new toy!!!

Definately get the whole pipe. My buddy bought a banshee that had the stock pipe with LRD silencers and everything else was stock. My stock banshee would beat him every time.
