I just bought a new griz 660 and had it in the water the other day. I was in just below the headlights for a few seconds and as i pulled out the belt started slipping. I got it out and pulled the drain plug to the tranny housing - it was full of water. Where is the air intake for this for this housing? I know it's somewhere up under the front deck behind the radiator but i can't see it. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep water out of there?

under the front plastic hood. you would have to remove the rack and hood to see it. on the left side on the air intake there is a clear rubber drain also.

Waderman~

It must have been over the headlights for a bit to get water in the tranny snorkel. Like Johnpaul said, it's under the front hood, and you do have to take the front rack off, but it's no biggy. You shouldn't have to do that, though, just pull the plug on the bottom of the snorkel and it should drain the water. If you still have some in there, try standing your grizz up on it's rear wheels and see if any water comes out of the tranny exhaust. I've had mine in water up to the bottom of the headlights, and haven't sucked any water yet.
