I am working with several 1996 Timberwolves, with YFB250H engines that have gone through many stators in thier lives. On the latest one the pulse coil tests bad. I have heard on the others that the source coil was bad. These machines are run in apple orchards every day in the summer changing water so they do run some high temps. Is this why they are failing or are they just a bad design? Anyone else ever see this and what was the cause? Thanks, Charlie.

I have seen this as being the weakest link in the Timberwolf and BearTracker. It doesn't seem to matter if the machine is used for work or if it has been "babied". The pulser coil is usually the problem but it is only sold by Yamaha as a unit including the stator.
